Web Link to the Columbus, Ohio CMBI Training Program Agenda Brochure: http://www.docboard.org/aim/pdf/cmbi-brochure-2011.pdf Background: Administrators in Medicine (AIM), in a collaborative effort with the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), has designed a state medical and osteopathic board investigator certification (CMBI) program that provides comprehensive, subject specific education and training for state medical and osteopathic board investigators. The goal of the program is to provide a resource to boards that will give specialized training to individuals who are in the position of investigating complaints received by medical and osteopathic boards. The program is specifically intended for investigators who have basic investigation skills but who are new to the peculiarities of investigating physicians while also providing continuing education and certification for individuals with more advanced skills. 64 Investigator applicants have achieved CMBI certification status so far; all attended the AIM and FSMB inaugural training seminar in Orlando, Florida on June 6-8, 2007; the CMBI Las Vegas Training Seminar on July 8-10, 2008 or the CMBI Nashville Training Seminar on July 28-30, 2010. 23 Boards now have Certified Investigators (CMBIs): Arizona Osteo, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine Medical, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada Medical, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma Medical, Oklahoma Osteo, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Washington State, West Virginia Medical, West Virginia Osteo, and Wisconsin.
